Put one quart size bag in your carry on and one in your personal item. You’re only supposed to have one, but the person looking at the scanner would have a hard time (and probably isn’t) tracking which rollaboard pairs with which personal item
Great idea!
Get pre-check so you don’t have to take anything out of your bag? I have full size toothpaste and have only been stopped twice in 4+ years
Next time tell them you know where you can fit a quart sized bag
Brilliant. On an unrelated note, I’m an idiot for not thinking of this.
I would argue those notes are not unrelated
I should have clarified - this was WITH pre-check and they busted me on the X-ray. I had nothing over 3 ozs.
This surprises me! I’m based in CLT and I’ve never had a problem. Sounds like you just got a jerk.
This happened to me before I had pre-check in STL but I was able to stuff everything in a quart sized bag luckily
I use refillable small bottles that fits in a quart bag.
Why are you special? Just follow the rules and pack one quart sized bag of toiletries.
Strange this happened with pre check. I live in CLT and fly frequently. I always have travel size toiletries in a Dopp kit but no actual baggy. Never had an issue
Check your bag or fit them in a quart bag.
Seriously, you think rules don’t apply?
I’ve switched to be a bag checker. For the first years of my consultancy life never would check a bag but after too many incidents like this and the fact I like taking my workout supplements was like screw it. With Delta guaranteed the bag will be there within 20 mins. Worse case scenario they lose all my stuff get new stuff. My company has a policy if the bag is delayed for more than 24 hours I can go buy a new attire each day until my stuff arrives
If you’re always travelling to the same city / hotel, check a bag once with a good supply and then just leave it at the hotel. Did this for 9 months on a series of projects in the same city
Get one, two, or three ounce containers depending on how much you need for your typical trip (Amazon has a variety of sizes in squeeze tubes and bottles). Yes, transferring from big to small bottles is messy until you get the hang of it. Consider tooth powder rather than paste - not a liquid and a 50g container lasts a very long time. If all else fails check a bag with your big bottles
I’m from Charlotte (lived and traveled there for 20+ years) and have never had this problem in pre check or regular security. Has it happened more than once? Probably just a weird security person?
Switch to an all-in-one soap shampoo conditioner. How many toiletries do you carry around?
Dr. Bronner's!
My fiancée takes travel size versions of the big bottles she buys. She gets the squishy silicone bottles and fills them from the big bottles.
She also uses old contact lens holders for things like face lotion, etc
I don’t have pre check (not citizen), but I never take the liquids out of my bag. I have too many cosmetics and skin care stuff in my bag that it will need 3 or 4 quart bags to fit😛
Seeing these posts, Guess I have been lucky for the past 5 years🙏
I did get caught for a small bag of almonds
Get TSA precheck or Global Entry (bc precheck is included)
Bain1, I did similar but just drop my clothes off at the dry cleaner as I was leaving town that why guaranteed cloths ready Monday morning
I transfer all my stuff to travel-size containers (MUJI ftw) so that I can fit more in my quart bag (currently fits shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, toner, serum, lotion, toothpaste, sunscreen, cologne). I do have a separate bag for the non-liquid toiletries though...
