Anyone has an alternative to an Au Pair. Wife and I were looking forward to host an au pair but can’t go through the official program since we are not permanent residents yet. Anyone has an alternative besides traditional daycare? Maybe a friend of a friend? I am in NJ. Any ideas welcomed and needed!

Meeting a guy through arranged marriage setup (I am south asian), the guy thinks that girls don't need to work after marriage as husband takes care of expenses , I want to say no to this person for proceeding . basically I feel this person lacks common sense that 2 incomes is better than one in a household. what is the best way to reject this potential groom candidate ?I feel a girl need not sacrifice her career after getting married , as marriage is not life it is part of life.

Let’s say you have two young, high income partners in a couple who want to buy a house together but don’t really care to get married. They already live together in an apartment but both want to move to a house to build equity and have a yard, not share walls, etc. Should one partner buy the house and the other pays rent until they get married, or should they get a mortgage together without being married? Any parents who are still on the safe side with Covid? We have a 1 year old and being safe and staying mostly home is really getting to me. Most of our friends have kids who are able to mask up or are vaccinated and it’s getting quite isolating. Especially now mask mandates are being lifted feeling like we can’t go anywhere without risking our kid.

First time Dad and my 15 month old keeps running up the stairs at my in-laws place and they keep encouraging it. Stairs are almost 10 inches high with nothing underneath and I’m worried that he might slip and fall in between the stairs. I know some will prefer dads over moms, but I assume majority of children out there will prefer their moms over dads… I have one child and it kinda hurts to see my child always preferring the mom over me. She’s needs sdf treatment according to the dentist, any suggestions on how to move after the treatment as it leaves black coverage on the teeth. (She’s too young for crowns and what not)

Every day of my life feels the same. The monotony of my job and taking care of the young kiddos is just the same over and over. I love my kids dearly (my job not so much) but I think this never ending repetition is impacting my mental health. Anyone else go through similar feelings or have any advice?
