Ladies, have you faced the broken rung in your career? I was definitely one of the last of my cohort to get promoted, despite great reviews and performance.

I can't say that "broken rung" scenario has happened to me. But I'm aware of that situation playing out. It can often be difficult for young women to move up early in their careers. The way it seems to work is that once you're established, you can't be stopped easily. But getting to that first managerial role can mean overcoming some real obstacles. And I don't doubt it's worse for women of color.

Yes… 😔 I’ve strived for many years to get back into a management role, and I’m completely burnt out from trying. I’ve gotten great performance reviews, mentored every junior colleague for the past 10 years, stepped in as interim manager when my managers have been on leave, yet there’s never a promotion available. I’m trying to accept that perhaps it just won’t happen for me.

Interested in working in PE, but experiences align more with the Ops side (3 YOE in strategic value creation). Is there a significant difference in total comp potential between ops and investments roles? Not sure how to make a case to break into investments with minimal DD experience, so thinking about Ops recruitment (Associate). Would also be grateful to learn about potential strategies non-DD focused consultants have used to ultimately break into investment teams.

Hi all. I was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder type 2 and it’s been hard to heal with the ups and downs of a very competitive sales position in the current market. Before taking FMLA for 12 weeks I was a top performer. Any advice from those that also live with bipolar disorder, or advice on a potentially a less stressful position to ease out of sales? I have 7 years healthcare sales and 1.5 years as a MLO.

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

I am a Certified Pharmacy Technician, with 21 years of experience. I work at an independent pharmacy outside of Charlotte, NC. I make $18.75 an hour and had to fight/beg for that. I do not feel that I am being paid near enough for the work I do. I am wondering what others in the area make, so I can go back to my boss and ask for more. I am so fed up, I want to move on to something else, but I have no idea where to start.

Just wanting others to share salary and location and maybe give me a little hope that you have a better team where you’re at that actually get things accomplished.
