I sat in a pitch meeting where the execs kept quoting “completion rates” and “retention metrics” instead of actually talking about the story. It honestly made me wonder why we’re even in the room if the algorithm is making the decisions. I get that studios want to minimize risk, but it feels like originality is dying under spreadsheets and data dashboards. Is it killing creativity?
