Lateraled to an NYC mid sized firm a few months ago and on pace for about 2100-2200 hours. I chose the firm bc I liked the partners on the zoom interviews I had and they’ve largely turned out to be great as expected but can’t help but think, did I make a mistake turning down big law $$ for perceived better atmosphere/less stress and bs? Corp and securities practice if that makes a diff.

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

What is the expectation at your firms about coming into work after making your billable hours requirement? Asking especially for those who do not get a bonus per extra hour billed over the minimum.

Working at a boutique transactiona firm. Is it normal that I spend majority of my time making bundles for my partners (printing, binding, moving docs in a different order whenever there are new documents or he wants to add stuff) reviewing documents and making tables (e.g. dates, which documents are from where), and the only legal work is like notices of admission, list of documents, the occasional research?
