Not my firm! They are full steam ahead on AI integration and encourage its use and integration everywhere possible unless restricted by clients on a matter specific basis
Biglaw thrives on inefficiency as we are paid by the hour. The biggest firms with the most business can play around with AI, but biglaw as an industry will push back on adoption of AI, unless the clients refuse to foot the bill for the inefficiency.
That’s because they realize a task billable at 1.5 normally will now take only maybe .2 so of course they’re resistance. A law firm is a business first.

Yeah. We had a call with our AI person who mentioned that his counterparts at other firms are getting pushback when using some AI tools. He specifically mentioned the due diligence tools that will populate a disclosure schedule if you feed it the SPA and all the diligence docs. It would reduce hours by like 90% probably.
Get back to me when AI can accurately dupe out my signature packets.

THIS. It can’t even reliably do simple things that no one actually wants to do. No junior associate is lamenting the experience they will miss if AI does their sig pages.
Yea this is hot garbage. My firm is full speed ahead on Harvey, and our profits went up by 35% this year.
The AI people will say … if you spend 6 hours training the AI how to do this specific signature page packet the AI can do it - even though it would have taken you 2 hours.
Bad take. Learning how to prompt the AI is a real time drain but it’s a one-time time drain and now I can usually get a good response on the first or second prompt.

AI wont replace all of us, ai is not perfect and most if not all ai companies say that they don’t provide legal or medical advice, meaning that their outputs need to be accepted as-is and they cannot be sued for malpractice. yeah there is that one lady that tried to use chatgpt to sue with disastrous results
