Left public accounting (audit) in September 2022 after 6 years for an assistant controller role. I loved everything about public accounting, except the hours. If not for the extreme hrs I would have stayed forever. I think the work in my industry role is extremely boring , even though the WLB is good - at most I work 45 hours a week during close. I’m looking for another job that still has decent WLB, but is more challenging similar to some of the audit work I used to do. Any suggestions?

So after two weeks of waiting (and giving up on the idea of getting the job really), the recruiter got back to me.

They said due to month-end and quarter-end close they were busy and couldn’t get back to me as quickly for a “good update”.

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.

Not sure if Im hired or not, but are there any questions about the job, comp (cont.)
