I didn’t want to travel (did travel model for an internship and hated it) & didn’t want to do implementation projs - so LEK basically was a good fit on both ends! For broad exit opps point, our project cycle is way shorter than a lot of other firms (may also be the heavier DD split) but I did ~11 projs in my first year vs at other firms you could spend 1 year on the same exact proj from my understanding, so you get a wide breath of experience (to even just help you figure out what you potentially would be interested beyond consulting)
Comments from LEK 1 are spot on. Travelled for years to work with colleagues from other offices, but didn’t develop a good network in my own local office. Didn’t like that part at all!
For a lot of these DD shops (LEK and Parth) the part I don’t see mentioned as much is that you are missing one of the biggest parts of effective consulting, which is client management and interaction. Both of these are very important in any exit opp so along with comp and your area of interest I would also think about the client component.
Chief
The one I got an offer at Worry about that part first
got it skippy
Rising Star
OW, Deloitte, Accenture. Perhaps even in that order. OW is much closer to MBB. Deloitte is the gorilla. ACN is a machine.
Not sure where u heard that. but that seems quite opposite what leadership said. LEK is fucked.
D any day. For market share, freedom to innovate, culture, opportunities to grow, ability to switch career options by moving around internally.
Don’t do D the pay doesn’t grow at the same rate as the tier 2 firms
Deloitte so you can feel like you went to Harvard
Accenture has most of those components that the OP is looking for - limited travel, strategic engagements (esp in the strategy and consulting practice) and decent culture. They do a local staffing model as much as possible and offers a wide breadth of experience. Goodluck with your decision.
Dunno wtf that acronym is but life sciences has plenty
Not consulting.
