Trying to juggle hybrid in the mornings and then virtual in the afternoons has been tough. Keeping track of students and when they are coming and going is overwhelming. In 2 weeks my class list had changed 4 times (new students added) not to mention the quarantined students and two full time special needs students who are fully remote! On a brighter note, the in person kids are smiling and happy to be back in the classroom!
Bowl Leader
I feel your pain. We are full time right now but one teammate is doing only the DL students. Our classrooms are full! We have 29 students so far and after this trimester parents get to decide if they want to come back full-time which will put us over the 30 mark for sure. I have 5 students with special needs in my room. It is definitely a challenge. As of right now I don’t think I have any students going to distance-learning. Just trying to acclimate new students into the classroom after spending weeks of building community with my now students will be a challenge. We even have a possibility of going hybrids soon so that will be a different challenge if that happens. It’s hard to work this job with so many unknowns but I have have learned how resilient students are and I am. I am so happy though to get a chance to spend time in the classroom and get to know my kids so if we do go complete distance-learning I have built a relationship with them and there is some buy-in. There are so many funny stories that they tell me and their little quirks that it puts a smile on my face every day. You’ve got this!! Good luck and give yourself grace and love. ♥️♥️
