Young POC + LGBT Strategists, this one's for you:
Heidi Hackemer at ZWolf Strategy has made a 6-week course on how to start your strategy career. Which is amazing in itself, considering what she's done for both my career and others'.
But it gets better: If you're selected, you get paid. No more thinking about how to make ends meet in order to get your foot in the door.
Applications close in 3️⃣ days. Good luck!

Love RVA. Babe's is where it's at. It's super easy to meet people both in and out of the industry!
I grew up in and around that area. Richmond is what you make of it. Depending on where you live, the life of the city can fluctuate with the school year (VCU).
It depends on your expectations and where you’re moving from, too. Richmond is definitely not SF or NY (or even DC). It’s a small, humble city, closer to Portland in scale and quirkiness. A lot of people who move there don’t end up wanting to leave. A lot of people who leave end up wanting to move back.
It definitely has its downsides (middle of Virginia, for example), but I never found a lack of dating to be an issue.
There are only two ‘official’ gay bars: Godfrey’s and Babe’s (this could have changed). Both are great spots. But the LGBTQ+ community is all over the city and as long as you avoid the stereotypical fratboy bars, the other places are going to feel pretty queer friendly.
If you’re going for Martin Agency or Arts & Letters (both are pretty hot right now) you’ll most likely meet cool people through work who can show you around too.
*I don’t work for either of them, I’m just guessing that’s where you’re thinking of going.*
Best of luck!
