Looking at buying a new construction build. There are two doorways that are 18in wide. Would a builder consider widening the space to a normal size doorway if I asked?

Is it a single space with two 18"doors, meaning a 36" space but with 2 doors? I don't think an 18" doorway is appropriate in a house...

I would measure. If there's room to make them wider, the builder might be willing. But if it's a cookiecutter builder like Pulte, they likely won't be willing to stray from the plan. You could have someone open them up once the house is done. It's messy, but not all that hard. I've done it myself.

Most doorways are 30" or 36". Is it possible these are 30" and the rest are 36"? 24 is still pretty narrow for a doorway

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

Plan is to purchase some time after 2 years or so. Primarily to save up for a larger down payment.

Here’s my plan of attack:
- $30K saved right now ($20K in IBonds and $10K cash)
- $90K saved by July 2023
-$130K saved by 2023 and target a $800K home

Location: Suburbs of Boston, MA

I’m really discouraged. My after tax / after 401k contributions etc. take home pay is $6,500 monthly. I have $60,000 in savings / stocks for a down payment but even looking at a $550,000 home, my monthly payment would be about $3,400 from the calculators I’ve been using. Is that too high?

So discouraged that houses where I live are about 50% higher than what they were 2 years ago, and now interest rates are around 5.25% for my credit score. This is like a 1750 sq foot home

I went from making $70k the last 7 years to now started a new job a month ago making $130k plus $10k bonus every year, and $60k in RSUs. I have $70k in my 401k and around $50k in savings. Want to get out of the Silicon Valley which has been home my whole life and buy in TX or AZ a ~$400k house. I have about $20k in student loans which my dad has offered to pay (wants to make up for never supporting me) but I’m waiting to see what Biden decides for student loans. Is this feasible? Credit is ~615

Seeking some advice for home buying. Went under contract on a new construction back in March, was originally supposed to be ready in August but has been delayed until November. I’ve began getting quotes for mortgage rates through lenders and the best I’ve seen so far is 5.75% (excellent credit, dp at 10%) at a 60 day lock. Debating if I should test my luck with the market to see if rates will drop or if I should go ahead and lock my rate in before Rates increase even more
