Unless you save your cover letter in the same document as your resume, we won’t see it. And as I always say, I’m happy to collect a referral bonus (assuming you’re not a current college student), but it won’t help you in any way, shape, or form. Neither the recruiter nor the hiring manager will know that you are a referral candidate.
That’s been my experience as well. GS has some minimum competency standards but I think it helps to sit with my referrals for 1-2 sessions and ensue they appreciate specific cultural things as well as nuances in internal terms/values as well as making sure their resume is something I’d notice. I think my work with referrals is far more valuable than the the referral alone.
