Looking for some advice. I’m currently going through the hiring process with a large company. I got a notification that my background check was completed on Saturday but still haven’t heard anything additional from the company. Being that it’s now Tuesday, would you send a email following up? Or would you just wait it out longer. I hate the waiting process sometimes lol

Wait. Employees don’t want desperate. They want you more if someone else wants you. Wait.

like

I’d say wait, the background check is a good sign that you have the job. Most likely they are still prepping the onboarding paperwork..

When did you interview?

As someone else wrote, base your contact expectations on what was discussed previously. There will be a process the hiring team has to follow that will take time. If it drags on reach out for an update. Typically, the background check is the last step prior to an offer letter, so congratulations on making it this far.

like

What expectations did they set with you for when you could expect to hear something? That's a better indicator of when you should follow up. Good luck!

Give it a few more days. Hiring team is doing other things as well. Their regular jobs, meetings, PTO days. Could be a number of reasons they have not circled back. There is usually more than one person involved when they are putting together an offer too.

Small firm (my boss, me, & a paralegal). After a hearing I did not handle, boss intended to seek review of the ruling in its entirety. What was communicated to me by paralegal was to seek review of a portion.

Seeking review is now time-barred. Boss is not upset, but this is 1 case & 1 problem. There are other cases & other stories.

How do I talk to my boss about being more present (boss is never in office, has “too many” emails, never answers his phone) without being seen as insubordinate?
