If you like their book but don’t know them personally, you can always pass it on to the recruiter and say just that. “I can’t vouch for them but I like their boon”
"Boon" is the best typo. I'm gonna start using it like it's a thing. "Kid's got a good boon."
Happens to me all the time. I send their names to our talent/recruitment team and just say, someone reached out to me on LinkedIn. Had a chat with them, their work looks interesting, but I don't know them personally.
If it's someone I know and I can vouch for, I don't send directly to the talent team. I send to hiring managers who have open roles, with a personal note that they should contact this person, and I cc the talent team.
Feel the same as op, but this is a pretty reasonable response.
Pass it on if work is decent. The person would likely have to interview or meet/talk to others…who gets hired on the spot from a resume passed to them? There’s a process, and those people can & will determine on their own to hire. Even strong referrals are assessed usually not an automatic or immediate hire. If your employer defines you by the resumes you pass on, well then don’t.
