Lukewarm take: Commercial work (especially in Finance) is more bureaucratic than Government (federal) work. The difference is the pressure to deliver through the bureaucracy.

A financial firm will go bankrupt the next day if they had 38 trillions of debt and growing, while funding foreign wars and cutting social benefits. US government can afford nonstop failures, financial firms cannot. Government bureaucracy is next level.

A financial firm’s bureaucracy is one step away from a bad quarter.

I’m relocating to London and would love to hear recommendations on neighborhoods. I am looking for an “urban village” feel (small coffee shops, not very touristy, can walk a dog and stroller) with a budget of 3K for a 1-2 bdr. My commute would be into Soho. I am currently looking at Notting Hill, Chelsea, and St John Woods, but I won’t be able to visit before my move. Any neighborhood recs?
