They’re hiring for only specific roles right now so team match will always be before onsites while hiring is slowed down.
I did the process you laid out but many people (even in normal circumstances) still do team match before or during their onsites.
I would genuinely not even worry about comp until you pass hiring committee. There’s still a long way to go.
That said I think 60k sign on is too high. $20-25k is more likely. can’t hurt to ask but my opinion.
Also I'm seeing ~300 TC on levels.fyi for an L5 TPM. Is that assuming a 300-400 equity offer over 4 years? I'm guessing their base will coming in around 150-200. If I make it through I was going to ask for that range of equity and maybe a 60k sign on. Is that within range for an L5?
60k sign on is aggressive unless you have some sort of competing offer. A healthy number to shoot for would be around 30-40k. The base you outlined is reasonable for L5, but approaching 200k is starting to be unrealistic unless you are borderline L6 experience. The equity will be the X factor in your negotiation. I’d start with 350k (~88k/yr) and expect it to land at closer to 300k (75k/yr). Those figures along with a presumed 15% bonus on your base salary will get you to TC of +/- 300k easily.
As G1 mentioned though, I’d focus on the interviews and get a bit further in the process before worrying about TC. The topic won’t and shouldn’t come up until the recruiter has received your initial feedback from your onsite interviews (and it’s positive). Good luck!
Thanks for the feedback. This would be my third round of interviews and feedback has been very positive hence why I was curious. As you said, I'll focus on equity to bridge the gap
