Hi! Everyone, I am a PhD turned consultant with 2 years at big 4. I was wondering if there are openings at MBB that I can apply to? I am a molecular biologist by training and do life sciences consulting in the cell and gene therapy domain.
MBB folks on H1-B who recently switched to FAANG - did you run into any issues with visa transfer? My transfer has been filed and I’m a bit nervous about USCIS’ perception of consultants and the current sentiment around H1-B visas.
I have sponsorship from my consulting firm (tuition, requires 3 year commitment, definitely does not pay like MBB/T2). I got a 60k scholarship from Kellogg, should I just consider making a move to MBB/T2?
Have people had success applying to FAANG, MBB, VC etc roles on LinkedIn or should I be going about this another way?
What is the difference between getting life sciences consulting expertise at a life sciences boutique firm vs at bigger generalist firms (MBB/big 4)? How are the projects different and what type of experience do u gain?
Without a perfect rest of your profile (4.0/800/story that brings people to tears/ well-written recs from top partners, etc), does being at Deloitte mean an automatic rejection for H/S? Is it necessary to move to MBB/FAANG/a more well regarded firm?
I’ve realized most people actually hate the big D, because lots of the people hired & top talent were near misses at MBB (final round etc.) and they resent the firm because of it. It’s a sad reality but it’s true.
Who wants help getting into MBB? =)
Is it any easier to get an offer from MBB as an undergrad intern rather than a full time (out of UG) hire?
Started at a T2 consulting firm not too long ago. Worth switching to MBB to break into PE?
What are post-MBA MBB salaries in Europe and Asia? I keep hearing that they’re a lot lower than in the US but I’m trying to understand how material the difference is. (I’m asking because I’m debating between an M7 and intl MBA program.)
How hard is it to get carry and/or make partner at a PE firm? Does it pay more than MBB at non-partner levels?
FAANG good MBB bad, am I doing it right
Folks who left MBB at the 1 year mark - what did you dislike and has the new job offered what you wanted?
MBB 🐠: who do you see as your biggest competitors besides other MBB firms? As in, who do you come across most when bidding for work?
Didn’t get the MBB offer, so going FAANG
So this might be a better place to post this and ask this question: Uncle D has announced explicitly that most people won’t get a pay raise & bonus this year except for those promoted and high performers. Amid this crisis, are companies including other big 3, MBB, FAANG, boutique consulting firms still giving high raises and issue stocks? Can you share the impact from your firm?
If you could ask for anything at your firm - what would you ask for? Caveat: something that is a stretch but realistic. Background: There is some current turmoil and I have been identified as someone they want to stay through it and wait for it to get better. We don’t have many females at the top. I don’t qualify for equity based on current metrics but the metrics used have lots of room for improvement and the current metrics could be “ignored” for me potentially. (Cont)
How to become a partner at big 4? Do you need to make equity contributions? How much would that be? Purely out of curiosity.
My friend is graduating college with a 2.8 GPA. Trying to help with his job search--what's a good way to damage control in interviews?
Anyone work for national tax? Curious to see how it compares to everyone else in terms of work load, flexibility, comp, promotions, etc.
Anyone noticed more and more consultants putting MBA after their name on LinkedIn or, worse, in their signature block? Without fail it is always those who got theirs from a TTT.
Thinking of quitting without anything lined up. Posting it here only bc I’m on a visa. Not gonna glorify it since I’m quitting only bc I don’t like the nature of my job or the environment. Have no grand big things planned ahead. I’m fine with leaving the country. Has anyone been through this and have any advise?
Do companies generally asks to provide a copy of a competing offer letter during salary negotiations?
It’s my kids first birthday Sunday and we are in lockdown. Didn’t have baby shower , anything ever special for the kid in the last 1 year due to financial situation. Sisters wedding in India in
As a single, childless woman, I get frustrated that flex time conversation is exclusively centered around mothers. I shouldn't not be considered for WFH benefits just because I don't have a kid.
Dm if you need referral for Accenture
How does NYC/Boston PE placement from Tuck compare to Booth/Kellogg (w/ pre-mba PE exp.)? I plan to apply to all 3 but plan to live in NYC/Bos post-mba and, despite the rankings, would prefer to go to Tuck if I am lucky enough to get into 2-3 of these schools
How do you find out if you’re not going to get a stub year bonus? Is it even possible if your firm gives them?
Any tips on telling project lead you’ve put in your two weeks? Want to be semi respectful, but also figure the usual “why, where what” will come up and not trying to burn bridges near tail end of project.
Which level of German certification is needed to get job in Germany? What are chances of SAP consultant to get a job in Germany? What is average salary for 2-3 years of experience? Are Onsite opportunities/internal transfer possible? How to apply?

I hate my life. Resigning...What do I do about health insurance? How long will I be covered? Just the two weeks? Or can they make me leave that day?
When applying for an agency, will the recruiter/HR consider you for all agencies under the parent org or only the one you applied for?
