Junior Associates - How much student loan debt are you and your peers in these days? A few young partners and counsel at my firm were discussing the student loan moratorium and most of us were convinced we could have paid the majority of our loans off with the bonuses associates got these last two years. But we are all old and when we graduated 150k to 200k was about the max student loan debt people graduated with. So educate me. What is the average student loan debt these days?

I have cleared three round of interviews in VMware for a business analyst position. One primary screening and two technical rounds. One more round is scheduled for further discussion. So is it a technical round or not. Also how many rounds are there going to happen.

Please help! I'm looking for writing terminology. At our agency, we are getting more into creative writing vs ... executional writing? Please help me find the right term. Creative means developing the big idea (concepting), writing scripts and headlines with flair, etc.) for an awareness "hook" and then the other camp, which includes brochures, one pagers, banner ads, sales sheets.

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Stub year in a free market firm frustrated about hours. Everyone was complaining about being slow last month, but it seems most passed 100 hours and I only got 60. I’ve been doing everything mgmt says to do but I’m making no progress in getting work. I can’t help but think I don’t fit in here and people don’t like me - especially because I went to a lower-ranked school, grew up poor, and am neurodivergent so networking is hard for me. Whole system feels very nepotistic. I just want to give up.

Im a third year and my current firm isn't bad and I'm pretty comfortable here. Im satisfied most of the time. There is one firm I've been keeping my eyes on because of its similarities to where I currently am (nice people, similar hours, culture).

Senior attorneys at v100, how common is it for attorneys who start at small firms to lateral to biglaw? Have you worked with any? Conventional wisdom is always that if you don’t start there it’s hard to “trade up”. My coworker and I just did it to two different great v30 firms, and I’m wondering if it’s really that uncommon? Just out of curiosity. We’re not special counsel with special niche skills or anything, just associates. Pitfalls to beware? Positives?

An acquaintance of mine who works at a NY firm told me she’s been in Korea for the past month! Is anyone working in another country? I wish I could but can’t imagine the time difference issue.

Thoughts on how CO’s sh*tty, “Equal” Pay / Work Act will impact remote work from CO? Some firms have started offering permanent remote work but I know a lot of companies that are offering those options are excluding CO workers thanks to that new law.
