Not really sure brand side orgs are set up to make the most of your skill set. They struggle just to keep ex-agency people doing worthwhile things, which, for the marketing depts, is mainly the endless flow of deckware.

20+ years in healthcare and the idea of producing anything of that level in house in alien. That’s what we pay agencies for.

I’ve personally never felt that need - if the projects are prepped properly and agency person knows their game, then all I need on site is someone from the brand team to represent our interests. And if the project isn’t prepped properly and the agency person doesn’t know… then I’m looking for a new agency.

I’d look at companies that have internal agencies but your salary requirement will probably need to be lower. You could consider work as a production consultant. I’ve worked at two companies where we used a production consultant to run a fine tooth comb through every single tiny production expense.
That income doesn’t factor in extra taxes and benefits you have to buy on top at regular rates. Salaried employees get less in base income but also pay less in taxes, get subsidized health insurance, 401k match etc. so I would expect to make 30% less in cash
