Yes...although you have a great billable hour requirement and culture. 135K is way too low for 9 YOE, unless you are insurance defenses, but even then...I think that's low.
I think that you are slightly underpaid but if you can get up to 150k with those hours and you are happy, that’s an excellent gig in Florida. Most salaries above 150k are going to be with overly demanding firms that could make your life miserable. I would see if you can get close to that number in the next year or so.
What type of litigation? I do commercial lit, 3 years out, wfh, and salary is185k plus bonus. Billable req is 1850.
Commercial lit as well. What part of Florida?
Would you be interested in working in the Fort Myers area? I know of a 55 lawyer firm looking for a business litigator with 10+ years of experience. You are almost of that level. Great bus lit dept. Nice people.
I just checked on their WFH policy in commercial litigation. It seems they are pretty strict. The most they let people WFH in comm lit is 1 day week. Sorry. Still at all interested?
135 is what a 3rd/4th year in insurance defense makes, so I would say that it’s definitely low, but the hour requirement is significantly lower (2400 in ID 🥲)
That does seem a little low. What’s your billable rate?
My old mid-size is in a non-SoFla market, has a strong reputation, and starts associates at $130k, I believe.
Underpaid but not crazy. With those concessions you don’t want to rock the boat and ruin a unique situation. However, 9 years out even with 1800, should be closer to 175-185k. Man I would just try to get closer to 160k and be happy with it. 1800 hours is 7 hour days and from home, that’s cruising.
