Get up with the kids. Make breakfast and get them ready for church while mom just has to get herself up. Then give her a gift card for a massage. Have the kids make something like handprints in a circle with yours on the bottom as the glue to the family Then go out for a nice picnic lunch weather permitting and let kids play at the park and you and your wife share a glass of wine. Then at bedtime you put the kids to bed and let your wife take a leisure bubble bath and then join her and have the time of your life. 😜

I always like getting her a little something (flowers or chocolate, etc), but have the kids make something that they think is special for her. Seems to be a win win.

Got my wife, mom, and mom in law all a coffee mug with pictures of our two kids. They don’t have anything like that yet, I think they’ll enjoy.

I usually make a nice breakfast. This year I got a gift card so she and my daughter (7) can go get pedicures together. It’ll be a gift from my daughter obviously.

P2. Don’t get caught. Don’t think wifey wants to bail you out of jail for picking flowers. Lol

I'm taking my toddler to pick flowers out of the subdivision garden to give to his mom. 😁

Daughter turns three this year, thinking of going to one of those ceramic painting places and having her pick out and paint something for mom.

Hey everyone. I found out we are expecting our first child and I’m really nervous. I got into consulting one year ago and I’m up for promotion this year. With timing of our performance conversations I would have to inform I’m pregnant before outcomes - then shortly after the promotion effective date I would go on a leave for due date. I’ve worked really hard and I’m worried our wonderful news will throw chances with this :(- also if I don’t get promoted pretty sure it’s up or out. Any advice?

Baby furniture. What is everyone doing? FTM and trying to figure out if it’s worth investing in very expensive nursery furniture. We were looking at the Natart furniture collection and the Silva collections. These both come in at about $2000-$2400. The furniture is high quality and grows with the child. Alternatively I could go the lower end route at get everything for like $800. Is that wise? I hear horror stories about low quality and paint chipping from the baby teething on the crib.

If you have a child during your first year of employment at your firm, are you eligible for the firm’s full maternity leave benefit? Or only if you have a child after your first year anniversary? TIA.

For couples who are not married yet - Do you guys talk about net worth, income, or anything even finance related? I know my SO earns more given his current industry, but thinks it’s rude to talk about those things. But I’m wondering… isn’t it normal for couples who live together or are married share those info? For example - How am I going to know what to pay for our child’s education in the future etc?

How do you handle people’s kids showing up on video meetings? Screaming, kicking, hamming it up, (wasting time.) Everyone else is coo-ing…I’m not a kids person. Heard a technique which is to drop off the call bc you “assume the call is over” (which seems like a great way to get fired especially if it’s a way higher up’s kids - plus it feels rather passive aggressive.) Thoughts?

I haven't been able to update the anything regarding the insurance part yet on FIS portal.

Will my mother's treatment be covered under the insurance? If yes, what's the procedure for the same? What are the documents that I need to submit in order to claim the amount?

Can anyone please guide?

Folks, I've recently moved to the U.S. and healthcare here is a maze, even if I have health coverage through the job. I've been wanting to see a therapist and it feels like it is quite expensive to see one. I'm on a HDP PPO plan and essentially I was told I pay $250 a session till I spend ~$7000, and then insurance copay kicks in. Seriously at a loss if I'm missing something or if folks spend the same on seeing a therapist. I'm curious as to how a lot of folks are able to afford the price tag.
