Baby furniture. What is everyone doing? FTM and trying to figure out if it’s worth investing in very expensive nursery furniture. We were looking at the Natart furniture collection and the Silva collections. These both come in at about $2000-$2400. The furniture is high quality and grows with the child. Alternatively I could go the lower end route at get everything for like $800. Is that wise? I hear horror stories about low quality and paint chipping from the baby teething on the crib.

Go to IKEA. Save some money and put it in baby’s account.

For our first one we went all out and ordered everything from RH. 2nd one repurposed it, 3rd one we became smart and bought from Amazon, target and etc.

It is hard to not go all out on your first child.

Honestly kids are expensive enough. Do yourself a favor and go to Buy Buy Baby for a baby furniture set. $12 on amazon you can do the gummy piece around the top of the crib if you’re worried about chips. My kid’s crib looked like a beaver attacked the top. So I wish I would’ve got the gummy rail deal.

We did Room & Board. It was expensive but we love it and plan on using the dresser for years.

Oooooh I’ve not heard of this one. Will check it out.

Everyone I spoke to said the quality of the furniture didn't matter to the kids. It really is just for the parents. If you have destructive kids, they will break things no matter how quality it is. So save the money and buy things as they grow. Needs change.

Currently have a 5th grade girl who is struggling with classroom behaviors and choices. When questioned, she says she wants to be a boy, but her parents won’t allow it. Obviously, she is struggling with more than making good choices at school. Her parents are very kind and appreciative of all we do for their child, but they are also clearly struggling with this. Anyone ever been in a similar situation or have some advice on how we can best support the student?

Anyone know which of the area defense contractors has the best benefits (I.e. paternity leave)? I’ve seen some that offer none and some that have provided 2 weeks. Seems that while perhaps the industry won’t match big tech, there has to be some out there that offer something more generous.

Hello everyone! I am looking for advice. I am a C&B Team lead ( about 15 years of experience) but all my experience was in Russia. Now I got married and moved to UK , plus we have got a baby in 2019 so now I am looking for a job in UK having 3 years of career break. Although, I am getting CIPD lvl 7 diploma this year. I am not ready for team leader's role now . So my question is about HR area, where could I find a job with my only Russian experience? HR generalist, C&B analyst, HR BP, recruiter?

Is it worth it to contribute and sell once or twice a year to take advantage of the 5% “free money” while also avoiding the risk of putting too much money in my employer?
