My kids do/did this. At that age, I wouldn’t be too concerned, they’re all psychopaths. We moved those knives out of reach and make sure they know/knew that it was not ok anytime it happened. Even if you move the knives, I promise you, they will find them.
Doesn’t sound concerning on its own. It’s copying. Even watching PJ Masks there’s attacks and makeshift weapons.
Prob no answer cause he realized he did something not okay and clammed up.
Basically, just teaching pretend and real things. Even a couple years older it’s the same discussion. They’re emotionally immature and cannot comprehend the meaning of this until prob like 20.
However, I do attest that bedtime is indeed the right time to fight crime
Best you can do is keep knives out of reach
Thanks EY1
Should he really be watching YouTube at that age? Not to be judgmental or anything but seems kind of young
There’s an app called SafeVision that solves this issue and allows you to curate YouTubes for your littles with 100% certainty. I was disturbed by how difficult this kind of solution was to find. Seems to me like YouTube Kids ought to have these options by default… but nope, not so.
Any which way, I’d keep a closer eye on your little to make sure it’s not a pattern with other objects. If yes, then I’d trace the source, overly dramatize the potential for harm, etc.
Like a butter knife?
Yes, I agree with you.
