Ever had an attorney randomly pull food that they somehow squished in their shoe during long court days. One day, it was taking forever in federal court due to the COVID backlog. An attorney was sitting at a table across from where I was sitting. Kept noticing him reaching down like he was scratching his foot then would bring his hand to his mouth. Very strange. Court concluded and I saw him by his car taking off his shoe and pulling a squished baggy with half a sandwich out of it.

What applications/process have you installed since the start of COVID-19 to electronically gather employee conifential information? My client is too small to have an HRIS or electronic document storage/collection. Thinking of using a shared Google Drive but worry about how confidential/locked down that will be. One item they are struggling with is getting I9 documentation since a lot of the office staff are remote. Any suggestions are welcomed!

Clawback clause in current contract: been in role for over 2 yrs, it was an internal move that required relocation. Relocation was approved shortly after (over 2 yrs ago) but covid meant the actual move and start of my contract with new subsidiary was delayed, I was paid by the previous subsidiary meanwhile. I got small relocation package. Would internal move be subject to a buy-out/clawback clause if I leave now and if yes, is it time in role or time under new contract? Any experience? Thanks!

3 Things to keep in mind which changing jobs:
1. Always ask dedicated budget for the job before you tell your expectations.

2. Always have atleast 2 weeks of gap before you join any company. You might not understand significance of that but just have a gap.

3. Always talk to people of team you will be joining before you accept offer or atleast before you join company.

Back before Covid, I represented the parents in a will contest case against the wife of the deceased. It was a sham marriage but you know how people like to fight over minute stuff. The deceased had been cremated and the parties were fighting over who was entitled to the ashes. I had the box of ashes in my office. It was getting ridiculous. I found a big urn with mini urns and ordered it. Scooped them out a couple spoons and nipped it in the bud. I still have leftover ashes for refills.
