It could be a budgetary issue. Many companies are struggling right now. Have you tried following up?
Yes! We stay in touch, it’s just been a very slow process..
What type of education are you interested in pursuing? I think it's great that your company offers that opportunity. I'd also recommend following up with HR to see if they have everything they need or have an estimate of when you may know whether or not you've received their approval. Good luck getting that approval ASAP so you can continue with your learning!
Thank you! I stay in touch with her and am just in the waiting phase for an answer at this point. Have you heard of BetterUp? They offer professional coaching and development for leadership. I have a friend whose work offered it to her for free as she was on track for management and she is thriving!
At our firm, approvals for career development requests are done once every quarter. Ask HR about the approval process, whether there's a strict approval schedule in place.
As I think about it I realize I never asked that specific question!
Agree with a previous comment that it could be a budget issue. These type of benefits are the usually the first to go in economic downturn. Is it possible to get a written agreement they'll reimburse within the next 6months to a year?
I’m sure they would be open to the conversation!
Your employer CLAIMS to offer training, but accessing those education funds requires meeting specific criteria: 1, 2, and 3, while adhering to certain guidelines and requirements, and calendar slots that HR deliberately doesn't inform you off.
All in the hopes you'll time-out...
Remember, delayed training can result in denied opportunities. So, you must invest in your development wisely and act in accordance with your earning potential.
