Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Take her out to a nice restaurant and maybe invite her to a spa for example?
24k dipped Roses. They last forever and it’s a great gift 🎁
Make it sentimental. Maybe get her something with personalization - like a blanket with a print of her name or something etc .
What is she into? I also have a friend who is somewhat similar, a gift that I got her a year or two ago was a set of forever roses from The Million Roses. I got a monochrome white roses in white box for one friend, and a monochrome navy blue roses in navy blue box for another, both are still looking great a couple years later.

What has she gotten you in the past?
This because if you just got laid off (& I’m so sorry that happened to you), you shouldn’t be trying to spend money on gifts until you land a job someplace else…
