- If it’s a perception issue he might be able to get ahead of this by promoting your work a little bit.
I would say that if it’s a performance/perception issue, unless this is his dream position, and/or he/she has been with the firm for only a year or so, he/she should work to make the switch as well. Perceptions are hard to change. If there is basis to this perception, real introspection and changes are required.
