I have to attend a conference call meeting every morning for 15 mins.
Same here. It’s more revenue than anything else. Remember, unlike in house lawyers, we are the product. We are the service. We are what keeps the light one. If we aren’t billing, the firm can’t operate.
Same. I think they're worried about budget with so many unknowns
My firm said the same thing but said they wanted to know so they knew who needed more work and who was overwhelmed. Maybe I’m naive but I believed them!
That’s what mine said today. I believed them as well, knowing how straightforward they can be. Makes sense to me.
Same.
Yep, same here - daily billable submission requirement
Since they’re letting us WFH, I think it’s only reasonable. If there’s a drop in collections or billing, I think they won’t hesitate to lay people off. I forgot to submit my timesheet yesterday and by 9AM today the billing police was at my door.
FFT my honest opinion is anything *but* daily billing is almost certainly made-up.
Could be a layoff indicator - but, regardless, something we should've been doing anyway.
Same thing at my firm. Firm also reduced attorney size by 25% and laid off all paralegals, file clerks, and law clerks. I’m terrified.
Wow. Firm size?
Same here.
