I don’t believe so based on what it says here. They can’t deny coverage period even if there is a gap period.
Thanks, I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t some loophole somewhere.
Also, you can elect COBRA when and if you need it and it will be effective from the date your insurance expired. So it will be like there was no gap and you only elect if you need it. You can take a look at your firms portal for more details on how COBRA works.
That’s right. Fill out the cobra paperwork and the check and put it in an envelope. If anything happens send it in. Your current insurance card will work until your new insurance comes on (depending on cobra coverage and new benefits period).
If it’s another employer plan then preexisting conditions won’t matter.
