It's very unlikely now because the companies and local government are prioritising local talents, making it very hard for foreigners to get a job these days.
Singapore’s ad industry is pretty strong! I'm not in the industry but I've heard from my close friends who are. Some of the top agencies people usually mention are Ogilvy, TBWA, DDB, Leo Burnett, and Publicis. If you’ve got a solid background, there’s great talent here and lots of opportunity, just be prepared for some competition.
As RMIT said, given that context, your best luck is an internal transfer or hard networking with leaders in the firms mentioned in the first post
Make no mistake - EPs even for qualified applicants are just getting harder across industries and firms.
Coming from the advertising space, unless you are an exceptional overseas talent then you're unlikely to get an EP. There are tons of locally talented people, and the government rightly prioritises citizens and PR's for all roles.
The advertising industry is in a massive consolidation and agency jobs are hard to come by unless you’ve got a lot of awards under your belt. I’ve friends who’ve been in industry for 20+ years in SG who are out of work and not finding anything. Further, getting an EP is really challenging given the current economic situation in SG - locals have priority. My advice is to look for an in-house job with a brand - might have better luck. If you’re set on SE Asia you may want to look to another city like Jakarta, Bangkok or Manila. Otherwise, agency jobs are easier to find in Doha and Riyadh. Dubai is similar to SG - over saturated with competition and few jobs.
