My prospective boss texted me at 11 p.m. on a Friday to test my responsiveness before they send the official offer. I haven't even signed the papers yet and the red flags are already flying higher than a kite. It was a quick question about a case study I did three weeks ago, but the subtext was clearly: Will you be my 24/7 slave? If this is the culture before Day 1, am I insane for even considering saying yes for the paycheck?

I made a couple errors at a new job. An important document to be distributed had wrong information on it, which was proofread by 2 other people. Then a couple of typos in emails, the person micromanaging me told me to send out but I didn’t fix the errors. Failed to meet a deadline but completed 95%. I was written up over all this last week, fired this week. There’s a lot more to this but I think it’s because the DM doesn’t like me.

Do you guys think it's worth paying off an auto loan? I have a 10k, 3 year loan with about 4k balance remaining. Interest is about 4%. I want to get rid of the loan but the total interest I pay over the life of the whole loan is only like $700.

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?
