Our company is going through a major transformation and there is quite a bit of resistance due to uncertainty and lots of broken promises. Are there any books you would recommend on how to change corporate culture and help employees adapt to change?

Thanks VPM1. Things are OK. MY VP and I have worked hard to create new processes and increase collaboration across different teams which is a huge improvement. It's a big ship we're trying to steer but there is progress being made nonetheless. We also hired a consulting company to help us identify other areas where we need to make improvements. I'm learning this is truly all about change management so I'm learning more about that. This has been a huge learning experience and I have no regrets joining the company. I really like the people I work with and that goes a long way.

I was going to also recommend culture code! And Amazon 1 exactly right. The leaders have already proven they don’t care because they broken promises made. So whatever the reasoning is, they don’t believe it. At this point any transformation will feel surface level.

I’m currently interviewing for a hybrid Jr UX Designer role for a fragrance company. The compensation is between 70-80k. I searched the market rate in NYC and the salaries are between 103-120k. I assume this is based on the company, industry, and experience. I have a graphic design background with 10 years experience and have a springboard certification for UX. I don’t want to get low balled as I have been in the past. Is it unreasonable to ask for what’s market value when it’s a team of 5?

I took the role I am in about a year ago and it just has not been what was promised and a huge step back. I have found a good place and am content but not overly happy with my place in the company. A smaller competitor reached out for a vp position that is a huge step up responsibility wise. There would be a pay raise but not huge so money is not the motivator here. I’ve interviewed for several Director and VP roles over the last 6 months. I keep getting to the end only to either be ghosted or told the position is “postponed due to budget”. Even my own company wants me to sit a Director role another 24 months before promotion “because of budget”.

Is budget really the reason or am I doing something wrong? How do I finally get that promo? Been regional ops (13 states) for 15mo and Director slotted for 9 now.
