Better to be a big fish in a small pond or a little fish in a big pond for MBA apps (I.e. superstar at B4 or mediocre/below average at MBB; metaphorically speaking ofc, ik the B4 is technically bigger in terms of size but you understand the point in terms of competitiveness)?
The Banana Republicans aren’t even pretending to care anymore - leaving the Senate floor while Schiff delivered his opening remarks. https://lawandcrime.com/awkward/21-empty-seats-more-than-one-third-of-gop-senators-reportedly-left-room-during-schiffs-speech/
How significantly are exit opps impacted as a SC2 vs M1 if trying to make the move towards Corp Strategy? Debating if it makes sense to stay on and make Manager. Travel burning me out.

What’s the usual compensation for an Associate at BCG? Currently work at a Big 4 (1.5 years of experience) and am in the interview process
Alright that’s it. I gotta get the hell out of advertising. If anyone is hiring a bad designer with no digital chops whatsoever because I’ve been working on campaigns for 6 years HMU.
Does anyone else feel like their burn-out cycle is shorter? It used to take me about 2 years of grind before I hit a burn-out phase where I needed to do some serious recuperating. It feels like I'm at 3 months now, or even less. I've already spoken to my wife about building quarterly mini-vacations into my schedule just to keep my energy up. And by burn-out, I mean you're at the point that every single ball you are juggling can drop and you get fired and almost see that as a blessing.
Should I take a 15% pay cut and leave Accenture for industry? Or wait it out to find a better paying opportunity? Worried about chargeability and layoffs, hate the process of getting staffed. Wondering if it's worth it though for such a big drop.
Hi fishes :) Need some suggestions from the PWC peeps. My directorial round with PWC is scheduled for tomorrow. Any suggestions please? What are the probable questions will be? I've asked for 12LPA but they said the budget is 9LPA..I've 6.5yrs of experience as a BA & scrum master (ctc : 6.55 LPA) What do you all suggest? Shall I consider pwc as It's a part of BIG 4 and other facilities and brand-value or capegemini/Cerner india (the pay scale will be higher most probably) Thanks in advance.
Are there any Big 4 or middle market firms that have national tax/policy (WNTS, NTS, etc.) practices that won’t work you to death?
Pre-covid did B4 have Holiday/New Years parties?
If you're on a PiP, is it better to quit just before the end stage, when you get fired, or better to get fired and collect unemployment, but also have a company-based termination on your record
What's the earliest in someone's tenure you've seen them fired from MBB and why? (Looking for validation that the feeling like I'm doing a sub-par job, but trying to be coachable, 7 months into my job doesn't equate to getting fired in the next 5-17 months...)
Somewhat of a recent hire - how hard is it to transfer into a different practice in consulting? Will I get fired for asking?
My wife is telling me to start looking for a new job now and I prefer to wait until after the 3 - 4 month parental leave when my kid is born in late July. Her position: You’re not likely to find what you want for several months so you should start looking in May. What does everyone else think?
Just found out I made A2 -> SA1 🎉 and received an offer at Deloitte (Consultant level) 🎉 for the same exact salary. Both tech consulting, more IT strategy role at Deloitte. What should I do...?
Decided to take a leap and leave full time agency life to be a freelancer and/or part timer. I’ve never worked as a freelancer before so wondering how folks have negotiated their rate, hourly vs day rate? For reference, I’m in the Account Management space and have 8+ years of experience. Thanks!
I’ve been told that the reason I cannot make the next level is because the individual who ultimately makes the decision still sees me as the young kid who they originally hired.
Once the dust settles post COVID what do you think the hybrid model will look like for most companies with number of days in office vs remote each week?
Work from home = 250 steps on Fitbit 🤔
What shall I choose and why? IBM 22.5 LPA Fixed + 0-10 % Variable PWC SDC 23 LAP Fixed + 0-17% Variable Oracle Consulting 25 LPA Fixed + 0-10% Variable Role is almost same in all three. Which has better OnSite opportunities outside india?
I read on Management Consulted that OW don't specifically recruit post-MBA. How accurate is that?
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
Do schools tend to have any weekend interview slots? Nervous about requesting days off on such short notice if I’m lucky enough to get invited to interview.
Debating between purchasing a house in Powder Springs vs Woodstock area. We are very much inclined towards diversity which includes some desi crowd as well. Opinions about these two areas will be greatly appreciated. TIA!
Hey Mates I'm working in pretty good fintech firm. I'm in my 30s with 2 kids and they are calling everyone to office by January I want remote job and would never want to live in any city again. Wondering which route to opt? 1. Start investing in open source and build a profile, find freelance jobs on upwork/Fiverr Or 2. Start giving interviews in remote jobs. FYI I'm terrible at interviews and spoken communications. Please provide your inputs. I want to work remote with good pay.
I received an offer from one of the MBBs (Analyst position - banking benchmarks team). The offer briefly mentions that I'd receive performance bonus, but doesnt mention any range (% bracket). Nor does the compensation structure has any component of Performance Bonus (which is usually a part of TC) Should I ask the recruiter on this? What to do? Thanks in advance!
Should I leave consulting to go into a product strategy role at a big bank? I’m at a crossroads here
Just lateraled and looks like I’ll be taking on a sizeable privacy practice from an associate who left recently. Any benefit to CIPP and CIPM training/certification as a lawyer? In DC if that matters.
So I typically don’t answer the EEO questions at the end of applications that ask for race and gender. Lately I’ve noticed companies following up via email for this information after I submit the application. Am I the only one who does this? Does it even matter? Any thoughts on the follow up emails asking for the information after the application has already been submitted?
Hi everyone, I need your advice. I've been interviewing with MBB and Tier 2 firms over the past few years. However I was never well prepared for case studies. I now decided to take 6-8 months and seriously prepare for cases/mental math and try them again next year. I currently have Victor Chengs book and few others. What else would you recommend for me? How can i lay out a plan to study? Any source you can recommend free or paid?
Friend wants to join consulting for the pay. I don’t believe she has the aptitude or energy for it. We worked together in a much slower industry, and even there she complained of being overworked. I’ve sent her resources to polish up her resume and links for roles but she’s insisting on texting/long phone calls asking silly questions. Today she wants a resume review over zoom! She comes without having done her homework. How do I tell her I’ve given as much as I can? How do I decline referring?
