I just hit $200k NW and it’s been 7 months since I made my post (link below) about hitting $100k NW in Dec ‘21.
I’m just mind-blown since it took me 2.5 years to get the first $100k and it’s snowballed from there. I’ve gone from $82.5k TC to $238k TC plus a $20k appreciation on a house I bought at the beginning of the year
Can’t really talk about finances with friends/family so this is the only place I can share milestones like this haha…we’ll see if I can hit $300k by EOY

Enough will be a couple hundred thousand in liquid assets so I can focus 100% on my side hustle
My top rationale is that it's a step in the right direction toward maximizing earning potential, bounce around every 2-3 years for more money
So you only care about money? How much money is enough?
The consulting life style saves u an average of 10k a year in utilities food free travel etc. keep that in mind too. We also have an amazing pto policy. Just my two cents
If you’re committed to finance industry go for it
Depends on what your long term goals are- don’t forfeit a career in consulting (if that’s what you want) for 15k. If the job is interesting/ More aligned with your interests/what you want to do, then go for it!
Do it internal stat sounds cool, u will probs get a better bonus than here
@mck1 true, 15k isn't worth giving up a consulting career but do you think the experience would make a candidate more attractive to return back into consulting afterward?
If you don't mind me asking, how did you go about finding that opportunity?
What is your side hustle?
More attractive? More attractive than what? Other “industry” opportunities? It depends on what you consult/what you want to do. Maybe t does, maybe it doesn’t- it’s highly dependent on your interests and ambitions. If consulting is the long game, why leave?
You also have to think about other personal goals. If your firm is like mine, BA is preMBA- you could always leave to this role, do an MBA, and return to consulting. There’s no “better option”. You have to make it Square with what you want to do in the long run.
