Anyone done Yacht Week? Thoughts? How douch-y?
Just got back to Boston - it's brick out here!
What are your book recommendations?
Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

@D1 or maybe we receive more interesting and complex challenges from our clients
@D1- it's probably not that different from what you do. A bulk of our revenue is trending towards the inevitable boring implementation/org work. OP is just brainwashed by recruiting tactics like a majority of BCGers. Stay woke.
Seems like you have a lot to learn!
Man life is so different outside of D. I wake up just hoping no one stabs me in the back today! 👏
@BCG1 Stay woke? LOL
Learn to understanding that other people might have better projects than you. I love this gig.
@D2 for example, BCG has really great research and proprietary information and it's really cool to be able to utilize that material in your cases and also play a part in conducting new research while on cases
I love my job too. In the past two years 70% of the work that I have done has been meaningful with real impact. I have so many friends who don't see the point in what they do every day, always grateful that my job isn't like that.
Some work is really cool, and the more boring work I've done has been made much more pleasant by solid coworkers. I still don't know if it's enough to compensate for the hours, but I echo OP's sentiment - in the right place with the right fit, this line of work can be very satisfying.
*i used to work at Big4 btw
Glad to see this, I feel the same way.
Is BCG hiring?
It's not about "does my firm do cool work." It's more about "can I do work that interests me."
Agree with OP's sentiments 100%. If I have a good team or am doing work that I'm interested in, I could be at the office before sunrise to after sundown every day and still be a happy gal. Ideally would like to have time for the gym though.
BCG work is definitely super interesting.
