I don't believe in a 10% tithe as a Christian but do believe in generosity. Before, when I was a staunch tither I did 10% on gross income. Now, my wife and I give both to our local church and several other ministries monthly and the total is much more than 10% with a goal to increase it every year. It's a fun part of doing my taxes seeing the growth in our generosity year over year. In a few more years we'll be giving away more than we pay in taxes!
I don't have a church home. (I want one) So I use my tithe/love offering to help people in need or for a good cause.
Must say this is my favorite FB post I’ve seen. Bravo to you, OP 👏
$100 per month, then I donate at various events throughout the year.
I tithe 10% of my gross wages. God always has provided for me especially during the difficult times.
I personally feel that it’s more of a heart posture thing. Tithe how you feel led to in terms of pre/after tax, etc (though the word tithe does literally mean 10%)
When the basket is passed around $5
Comments are hilarious lol. We tithe on net $
this is my take if you as a believer decide am going to give $500,$1000,$5000 and more as tithe then do it faithfully because its a personal affair just give and know thats it tithe my pastor asks for tithe then later allows you to give love offering so give what you have agreed in your heart to give as tithe and just be faithfully and cheerful not how much matter its how you give matters
On the net. I'll never have access to the withholding taxes. So it's not mine to tithe off of. I will however, tithe off any refund I receive.
God asks for our first and best. 100% of it is his anyway, we are all just shepherds of his resources
I give 10% of my net pay I receive in my bank account on a biweekly basis. I have received loads of benefits paying my tithe, knowing that out of which God has blessed me I am returning with my tithe and offering to the church. I don’t miss up my charity to others as a tithe as they are separate. I have seen people offset their charity against tithe, not sure that is righ.
Me as a businessman l use that tithe to buy some few things and give them to the needy
I’ve always done post tax. My parents (pastor) do gross.
Pre tax
Mine is net - 10% goes to a separate tithe bank account that is calculated after tax as my paychecks have withholdings
Gross
According to the Bible, you tithe 10% of your pay. It doesn't specify on love offerings. Not that I can recall. Hope that helps.
gross earnings.
I do 10% of take home, then if I get a tax refund, I tithe off of that. I should probably be doing gross, but damn that’s a lot of $$$ lol
Your heart is in the right place mate. Well done!. Do what your heart tells you to do :)
