That's a low-ball, but is in the SC range (somewhere in the vicinity of $90-140k).
I'd push for closer to $125k.
Thank you! I want to counter at $120-125k but because of how low they started, I don't want to sound unreasonable either...I guess all you can do is ask and try to back it with skills/experience/data
105 does not seem like the appropriate compensation for an SC especially for someone with 8+ YOE. Counter the offer with your data points on market research.
Thank you!
First, it’s true GPS makes less than Commercial. I am also GPS Human Capital SC but not sure what CCG is. Hired in July. I stated $125k from the beginning and they offered me $105k. They are low balling you. I went through several rounds of back and forth with recruiter and eventually got the $125k. And I’m glad I did because they work you hard here. I’d be miserable if I had taken the $105k, it’s not enough for what they put the experienced hire SCs through haha. Hope this helps you!
THANK YOU - CCG is "cross consulting group" kind of a bench/rotation where you try out multiple areas in HC before going one direction.

That’s low. Counter with $125
Thank you!
You should be able to land closer to 115. The bands are really broad, so you’re in band but with 8 YOE should be able to nudge higher. Counter at 120 and see where you get
Thanks, I was also wondering about the bonus so that's helpful - the letter says "up to" but really doesn't give any additional insight on how its determined, etc so that was going to be one of my questions for the recruiter. I have a list of about 10! ha
Came into GPS with 8 years experience as SC at 115. I had asked for 130 and they wouldn’t go any higher. I still say ask for 125-130 and see how high you can push it up. When/if they don’t meet your ask, also make sure to get at least 10k signing.
THANK YOU!!!
I'm a GPS SC3 (in my 3rd year as an SC) in HC and I make 103, 12 YOE. I think your pay raises are going move at a snail's pace until you're promoted.
that's a bummer to hear but I appreciate the feedback! I may be naive but hoping that it will be more about the opportunity for me rather than the money - just didn't want to feel undervalued walking in. Too late now (HA!)
Why CCG? With 8 YOE you should have a specialization by now. Isn’t CCG typically for campus hires who can try multiple offerings prior to specializing?
they did mention that it is typical for campus hires but not always - my specialty is HR so the way they spun it was that it would allow me to cross over into org transformation, hr transformation and change management before deciding which direction I want to go...
Update: Spoke to the recruiter with a request to counter at a much higher number - the came up a little bit on base and sign-on bonus but not much. ~5k total between the two. I did side by side comparison of what I can expect in the way of base/bonus/benefits at my current employer in 2022 and what I can expect at Deloitte in 2022 - almost exactly the same amount as a whole package minus bonus potential. That's the only real upper hand that Deloitte has on my current employer and that's not guaranteed...starting to really re-think my decision to leave my current company. Concerned about countering a second time but also not sure the demands of a consulting job are worth a lateral move....I was pretty certain Deloitte was going to blow my current company out of the water but they really don't. : (
