On track for NEP at the end of next year. Got an offer to go in-house now with total comp in the low $300K. Should I get out now or wait for the title change and then leave (in expectation of higher role/comp at that time)? No interest in equity whatsoever.

The lack of in house experience is holding you back in comp at this point, not your title.

Low $300k total comp is pretty good for your first in-house position, and being on track does not guarantee you’ll get the NEP title.

Agree with A1. People on fishbowl tend to say that once you get too senior, it’s actually harder to get in-house roles because of the perception that candidates won’t want to take the “cut” in title or comp that their lack of in house experience actually warrants.

How long can stick out being an NEP? Making good money for the next 2-3 years could give ya a nice cushion before trying IH again.

Sounds like a good offer, assuming it's a role/company/industry you're interested in. Do you have any other objectives related to staying until you make fake partner, aside from trying to leverage the title for more comp in-house? If thats's the only reason, I'd be tempted to take the offer. Why suffer through more time in Big Law if you don't have to?

I just started a new job 2 months ago, benefits and PTO don’t start until 90 days in so I still have a month before I can take off any time, and today found out my company doesn’t offer paid maternity leave.
I’m really struggling handling the symptoms and maintaining my full time job. Thinking about looking for a part time job to have more time to myself through the pregnancy since I won’t be getting a paid leave anyways, but lost on where to start looking. Any recommendations?

I know this may sound like a question but I'm not sure how far along am I. My last mense was we 8/2. My embryo transfer was 8/23. I did my blood test on 9/1 and it was positive. How do I know how many weeks am I?

I think I may have made a huge mistake today. My skip level director sent out an email about something and asked us for feedback. I sent back a note and provided some. One of the things I said was that our job satisfaction might be improved if we could do more of X kind of work instead of Y kind of work that we do so much of in our group. The next thing I know, I get a ping from his EA to set up time for me to chat with him and my director tomorrow. I am getting in trouble tomorrow, right?

Why do many associates at top tier firms stay to make Partner when they can go in-house in tech and make around the same, even long term? For example, you can make near 400-550k in-house at Google, Netflix, FB with 8-10 years of exp. More senior than that in-house, it can easily break $1M.
