I’m with the agent on this one. It’s far more likely you’re coming from greater China if you look Chinese and wear a mask. Wearing a mask is done more by people living in Asia than Americans and you might be Chinese, where the vast majority of infected people are. It’s a little like someone giving a description of a black guy that robbed them. It’s not racist to only stop black guys who match the description. Sometimes political correctness goes too far.

Agree it should be more systemic that asking the one Asian person with the mask. That said, no reason to take it so personally OP. I’m guessing you don’t have the virus and got to your destination safely.
There were other people wearing masks too. I find it racist that she chose me among others wearing masks too. Why did she think it was ok to just pull me out and not others wearing masks? I am Asian if that matters 🤷🏻♀️

It happens when checking into any flight to Israel from the US too. If you’re ever in a terminal where El Al checkin is going on, try walking over and watching. US carriers have Israeli security at gates for flights to Israel too and likely have different security standards based on risk profile (which includes race).

That's going to happen a lot, because none of them realize it's the people WITHOUT masks that are the higher risk. Just tell them what they ask, and remind them (politely) that you're just doing your part to help limit it... and make them hopefully realize they picked the 1 out of 100, and missed the actual 99 they needed to ask.
The sick people are not even taking the precaution of masks. That's why it's spreading faster and faster.

Sick people shouldn't even be in line to board an airplane, but they either don't care or don't know.
OP, please do not take it personal. Sometimes, we have to view these things from the perspective of others. As bad as this might sound, you (as an Asian) were based on logic, more likely to have been coming from Asia. Better safe than sorry. She was just going her due diligence.
