Our lab has a mix of senior and junior people, and sometimes it feels like the same few people end up mentoring everyone else. It’s rewarding but also adds invisible workload. I’m trying to figure out how to contribute without becoming the default mentor. How do others handle that dynamic?

My hands are shaking!! I just got off a call with my toxic manager who is clearly not happy I am being poached for another division. I tried to hold firm as he attempted to 20 question me, who was it, who wants me, what division, how did they find out about me? And of course the gaslighting of “why didn’t you come to me I could have helped or made introductions”. Clearly everything is about him. How have you handled such situations? What could I have done better with my abusive manager?

What are some of your strategies to help push out “what your company has been up to”? Utilizing platforms such as LinkedIn, IG, company websites are covered! How else do you prefer to promote company events?

Besides my parents divorcing I really have not experienced that many hardships or trauma in my life. Everyone who says "I can't wait to be back at the office" - are they really serious? To tack on commute time and public transit anxiety, wake up at the crack of dawn.
