🤷♂️ such a personal decision for trade offs. She seems pretty adamant about it. Now isn’t an ideal time to buy so maybe hold tight and see if it’s not as bad as you expect… or it will be and that will probably convince your wife without you forcing it.
Not a bad idea. Will miss selling at a good time, but I’d much rather be in this area too. Just want the space, and part of me feels like im the only one of friends not in a house too, but will get over that ego issue.
Lucky you. Most of us have the opposite problem
First world problems. There are people that live in small places with two kids
Thank you for your valuable input, very helpful.
How much space do you have?
I live in 1400 sq ft over 2 floors with 2 kids (second kid was born last November) and really don’t feel any difference.
All of those things you listed exist in the right suburb. We had to leave NYC when we had our second and found a great town in NJ to raise our kids.
Where are you now?
Atlanta
Boring is a state of mind. If someone feels the need they have to be somewhere or not be somewhere in order to not be “boring” then that’s entirely on them. No offense to your missus
How small are we talking about?
We’re going to squeeze both kids into the same room. We’re in townhomes and a lot of our neighbors did the same. Going to keep the other room open for guests/office space.
We had baby in our room for a while then when they move out you can try have them share a room if that works for you. I personally enjoy the suburbs with good schools, lots of people in similar life stages around and access to the things I enjoy. Note these are not concert or eating out etc so each to their own.
Give her time she will come around when boxes of diapers and kid toys crowd your space, my wife was the same way until the second came along and the tiny place became too small
