I made that jump before. Honestly, it’s a trade-off. Big law pays more, but the hours are crazy. Burnout’s real. Structure and prestige are nice, but I miss the chill vibe of mid-size. I think it really depends how much you value worklife balance and how you feel about an intense atmosphere.
Yes, I did and only lasted 3 years. Burnout is real but the money is great. It motivated me to go in-house which I love.
It depends, on your personalty, and what your life needs are. I have done, small, medium, big law, and in-house; each have their pros and cons. It. also depends on whether you go to a general practice firm, a plaintiffs firm or defense firm.
I’ve done both, and the smaller firms usually allow more flexibility.
