Instead of asking for a confession to validate what you already know about your partners being heartless animals why don’t you start looking for a new job? ☠️
Well that’s partly why I’m asking. If it turns out that it’s not just my shop bit endemic of the industry, I’ll look somewhere other than law firms. This is the only firm I’ve been at so o don’t really know.
Run, Forrest, run!!

Regardless of whether it’s common or not, that shouldn’t be a reason to stay in that environment. Find a company that values you for your skills and well-being. By staying in that environment you’re sending the message that treatment like that is acceptable.
I hear you... I’ve started looking.

Not sending my associates (or anyone on my team) to the hospital would be pretty high on the list... curious what the root cause was. I’ve only heard of people going to the hospital for work related stress/dehydration twice in almost 15 years.
Both were pulling about 15 very stressful hours a day for 3 straight months.
The partner in question does not make the hours any easier...very stressful individual. Not that different from Louis Litt in Suits but less likeable

The partners probably didn't even know your names until you were in the hospital (read: not working). Get out now.
Nah. They know our names, perhaps too well...makes it easier to shout across the floor or us...imagine Louis litt from suits but less nice.
Reminds of the EY Hong Kong guy that literally worked himself to death.
Good partners realize how hard it is to attract good talent, and burning people out is counterproductive to that. The best ones will take steps to mentor you in addition to workload mgmt.
