People complaining about salaries, bonuses, and lack of promotions are exactly why I don't bother killing myself for work, i.e. Excessive travel, 700% utilization, extra BD work, etc. Not worth it.

When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok.
