I thought about trying different practice areas or going in-house. But, when I got very honest with myself - I knew that (for me) those were just bandaids. I didn’t enjoy the core parts of practicing. But for some people, that can make the difference. Get clear on what it is you do and don’t like and be honest about whether a change of scenery would solve your dissatisfaction, or if it’s just fear of taking a bigger leap.
Haven found the exit yet but definitely tried a few practice areas...dont like any of it
Same. But don’t know what else to do. Someone get me out of this loop!!!
I was at a firm for a number of years, went in-house to an asset manager, had the opportunity to start an EMBA program and join the investment team there and decided to try another firm before I completely get out of law. As I learned more about the biz side it became less appealing to me, and I realized I already have all this value built up and am not sure I want to give that up and take a few steps back. TBD how it all goes ha.
