No- but depending on years in you should be looking for Claims Director or AVP roles, not claims examiner. You may want out, but don't sell yourself short. Also know that however paltry you think your comp is, in ID you will eventually make over $200k plus bonus if you are in a major market- and you'll most certainly never make that in Claims.
This is great advice I appreciate it.
Went from claims associate to ID associate and personally, as much as I hate my ID job, I hated being a glorified adjuster more. The hours are nice and the pay/benefits not bad for the responsibility. However, half the work was dealing with Google lawyer claimants living in a trailer park (title insurance) telling me why I’m wrong for not paying them. At least now I get some respect from the insured client being that I’m hired to help them.
Granted, I think if I went back and understood the retained counsel’s role more, the greater picture would’ve been a lot more clear. The training and direction of how to handle claims was non-existent where I was, but that could’ve just been due to it being right after Covid started.
Following! I’m sorry, but what does AVP mean?
Thank you so, so much for all of this helpful advice. I’m going to seriously consider this because, if I can get out within the next two to three years, omg. 🙏🏻🙌🏻
