I’m a designer and I work while walking all the time. I use different speeds for different things. Slower speeds for working/typing, medium speed for calls (not presentations obv), and I do the highest speeds during town halls or big internals where I can go camera off with no issues. I get like 15k steps a day, easy.
When you’re actually heads down designing, can you walk? I can’t even use my standing desk when I’m in deep.
you don’t walk for 8 hours.
just a cheeky 30 here and there. yes on a call
You can type while using them if you’re not walking super fast. I’ve found that my concentration is better when I’m using my walking pad
I've been using one for years. You wanna start at a slow speed and then gradually add speed and see how fast you can go and still work. I use it in meetings but definitely not on camera. Usually meetings that are long and I'm not an active participant. It's really wonderful I love it. It makes me feel like I'm taking back part of my day for myself and my own health and well-being.
I do type. It’s easier than you think but you should also go so slower than you think.
Depending on what im doing I’ll vary between 1.25 mph and 2.25 mph. And it does get easier as you practice
I type and design on a walking pad but use a very low speed for those tasks. Essentially a speed that just keeps me moving vs feeling like a workout. No real sweat or overheating. It’s a lot easier than you think it is once you start and those slow speeds at longer intervals add up.
I can’t walk and chew gum so that’s impressive!
That's a great question! Someone suggested that I get one. I've been thinking about it.
I just got one this weekend. Will report back
Use it whenever you wants Just don’t use it when you’re on camera, pretty distracting and hard to hear people speak while walking/huffing and puffing haha
