Planning a wedding less than a year out and I’m stressed. How much is everyone spending on photo/video these days? I regret not looking into how much it would cost before booking the venue. I didn’t think photography was going to be $4000 average. People I know are spending $8-10k just for photos and video which I think is insane! Any suggestions? I don’t have connections that would do it for a lower price. Based in NJ. Looked at larger companies (e.g. George Street) but I’m scared to mess it up

My photographer is $4,400 including engagement photos and we are choosing not to do video

Same here! Loved both our engagement and wedding photos so much. Definitely worth it.

Our budget is $8500 for photo and video and as of now we are in contract for $7900 total. Our thought process is that this is what we will have after the wedding to look back on and so it is most important to us. It just depends on how much you value pics and video

I’m doing photos at 3500 for 8 hrs with two shooters and skipping video. Also in north jersey

I’m spending $4000 on a photographer after having interviewed dozens. We’re not doing videography - didn’t think a 10 minute video was worth a couple grand

We spent 5150 for 10 hours of photo and video in NJ and my planner told us this was an amazing price

Thank you!!

In NYC. My photography is 3200 and comes with 2 photographers. Looks like he recently started his business (a few years old). On the cheaper side but I believe his price may have increased

Hi! I’m a wedding coordinator on the side and the average cost for a wedding photographer (at least in Dallas) is around $3.5-5K for experienced photographers. Personally, I found a photographer that includes 8 hrs plus a second shooter and complimentary engagement shoot for $3K total plus tax. My videographer is $3,400 plus tax. If you’re in the DFW area, I’m happy to recommend vendors!

When inquiring, don’t forget to ask photographers to see a full gallery of weddings they’ve shot before!

like

Wow I thought $2,000 was a lot for photo and video lol. Guess it all depends

That’s what I thought!! My wedding coordinator made it seem like it’ll only be up to $3k for both

Spending 4k on video and 2k on photo in Denver

$4,000 video and photography. Destination wedding in Mexico.

$5k for 8 hours of photo w/ 2 photographers

$4k combined for 8 hours of photo (2 shooters) and 7 hr of video in arizona

I hear people regretting not doing video but for a 3 min video costs the same as alll the pictures? 😔

That’s exactly my thinking!!!

My father took a home loan, and the same home is kept as mortgage.
I'm paying arround 22k emi for the same but unable to exempt tax as the loan is on my father's name.

I googled a lot how to transfer it but neither gift deed nor sale deed would work as the property is on mortgage that's under bank's ownership (until loan is fulfilled).
Tax is also getting deducted, I'm paying hefty emis.
What can I do?
Please advise 🙂

Need some advice on renting here in ATX.

Back in May 2021, I rented a property that had sustained damage during the big snow storm. This wasn't disclosed at lease signing. The home leaked every time it rained, mold was found in the home & the LL failed to make repairs that resulted in me falling down a flight of stairs. I moved out& rented an apt for 2 mos before signing a lease on the house I live in now. This house has a serious big problem& I've found mold here too. Continued below

Fellow P&T Directors - here’s a thread for us to discuss what we are hearing/not hearing with regards to PCLDE and the making of new partners in P&T.

On every call, we hear Joe talk about making new Partners and his commitment. I have yet to see any of those ‘commitments’ be reflected in actions or explanations. (eg. No senior directors from commercial GTM going into PCLDE this year …) What?

Do they really think we’re going to ‘stick around’ until they ‘figure it out’ …

We decided to do a photo session before the wedding for the two of us and family. The photographer and the location were amazing but the makeup was terrible, and because I was low on time, I couldn't fix it before the photos. The makeup artist make me look yellow! Idk if there's anything that could be done at this point, but feeling so disappointed :(

Thoughts on kindly asking your bridesmaids to please not give a gift? I am over the moon excited that my bridesmaids will be celebrating me and traveling for the wedding and bachelorette. I really do not want a gift from them at the wedding. Full disclosure, my fiancé and I have great paying jobs and my bridesmaids are grad students, artists, and teachers. How would you frame this? Any recommendations for good videographers in NYC/Tri-State? A lot of the affordable ones I find make the cheesiest videos. I’ve certainly found some good ones but very expensive. I know you get what you pay for, but there has to be someone reasonably priced out there that delivers quality work. I am splurging on the photographer so this would just be an extra.
