$85K is fine for LA. Probably on the higher end of what seniors make in the market.
I'm moving to SF for 72k. Definitely think 85k is more than doable
I agree w/ EY2. 85 in SoCal is a lot less than it sounds like but it's enough.
How many busy seasons is this for you?
You a senior?
So much depends on...where in LA do you want to live? Do you want to have roommates? Will you drive to work (gas is more expensive in CA) or can u figure out a way to take public transportation? How much do you want to be able to "save" each month- like seriously do you want to buy a house someday? How much will you spend on going out? And of course your taxes are going up? I'm from LA and started my career with EY in the LA office. 85k, it's OK but it will be tight.
I saved a third of my net pay every month when living in the south. Think I'll have to give up saving in California
That's insane ^ 50% of my take home goes to rent in the south
I guess he / she lives at home ?
How much are you making now? If 85k how much do you have leftover monthly? Don't live in LA but I think 85 should be do-able
Making 66 in the south. I'm well aware of the COL adjustment and diff in cost of living but there's a solid corp accounting role in a real estate investment company im itching to get into
3 but if we're talking how many busy seasons have I done it's about 4/5
How'd you find it? I want to move west too, also in SE but seems hard to find jobs on the other side of the country
I just hit up recruiters and actually on LinkedIn there's a feature where you can set your job preferences location wise and you'll get recruiters hitting you up.
Yes I'm a senior
Damn you should go for it 👌🏼 thanks for the tip!
Uh job is in Pasadena. Rent out there looks like $1900 a month and I usually cook my food during the week so no biggie there. I have a fuel efficient car (27mpg) and I try to save about $500 a month. Did the take home income calculator and seems to not be impossible.
Yeah I think 85 is more than enough to work with
Definitely. Or has roommates
You can find rents in decent apartments in Long Beach for - 1200 to 1600 easy. With 85k you'll be alright. Maybe find a roommate and rent out a 2BDR for $2k.
