I've had it for a few years, and I always get far more back than the fee.
Same here, especially the points multiplier when you book travel. If you have other chase cards, you can roll the points over to ultimate rewards and get the points multiplier. Helps make all of your chase cards more valuable.

For me it’s always been worth it, but really depends on your spend/habits. You basically get $300 back off the fee, and then the incentives on other stuff help offset the cost too (example: $120 in Peloton membership charges covered this past year, had to renew my Global Entry so that was another $100 covered, we use DoorDash all the time and they gave me dash pass for free, etc). Look at the benefits and then decide if you’ll use them.

Honestly wish I had just gone for the citi double cash so I don’t have to keep track of all these points.
Same.
Nah they just upped the fee I believe - it used to be worth it because of the $300 annual travel credit but the preferred gets just about the same rewards. Check to see if the preferred still has the 100k bonus points too otherwise go citi double cash

Second Citi DoubleCash. No fee and 2% cash back on everything. Easy money.
I debated for the longest too ended up getting venture x
I think it just depends on what you use - if you workout with equinox/soul cycle get an Amex, if you use Uber a lot go Amex. I have made up my credit card fee and more with the Amex card after transitioning from chase sapphire
What would you recommend to have airport lounge access?
I’ve two Wells Fargo credit cards on which I don’t get a lot of rewards (bare min.). So I’m looking for a card that would be helpful in accumulating points that I can use for travel, etc.

As others have said, it depends on the rewards. I don’t use Uber, don’t have gym memberships (basement gym), don’t use DoorDash or food delivery and don’t care about airport lounges and such so I’m all about cash back with minimal effort.
I’d recommend the Capital One venture X! Fantastic benefits for the yearly fee. Message me for a referral
A lot more flexibility in travel and restaurant spend compared to Amex Plat which only gives more points when travel is booked through their portal. Plus I live in New York so the Lyft 10X on CSR is huge
